Bee pollen - "the live-giving dust

In today's article we would like to present properties and uses of the bee pollen, which is used for the production of Honey Therapy cosmetics.

Bee pollen has already been known to the ancient doctors. Egyptians, Romans and Greeks praised its nutritional values and called it "the life-giving dust". According to Hipokrates, who is recognised as the father of modern medicine, bee pollen was a natural healing solution, and the ancient Chineese used it as rejuvenating madication. Bee pollen is a flower pollen collected by the bees, that is partially modified by them. It is tiny,yellowish-brown balls-shaped, that after mixing with a bit of nectar, honey or saliva, is gathered in the beehive by the bees and storaged as feed for their young.

Every single ball consists of 100 thousands pollen grains, including these coming from the healing plants e.g. from St John's wort, dandelion, wild rose. Contemporary studies on the pollen composition and its uses in medicine, were conducted in many European resorts. Nutritional and therapeutic properties of the pollen result from its  very rich chemical composition, over 250 different chemical compounds are identyfied in it. Such as carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, minerals, vitamins, rutin, essential oils, phytoncides, antibiotics-inhibines, hormones, enzymes, organic acids, growth stimulants.

Bee pollen has a lot of uses in healing many diseases of the entire body. It has been put into cosmetics production. Products with the pollen exhibit beneficial effects on skin and hair. Creams and lotions nourish and make the skin look smoother, restore its elasticity, give the healthy and youthful appearence, retard aging processes and act biostimulating. Thanks to the presence of amino acids containing sulfur in pollen extracts, shampoos fight dandruff and prevent from the hair loss, they regenerate, nourish hair and scalp. Cosmetics with the pollen reduce the signs of acne, act strengthening and regenerative and make the skin glow.

THE SMOOTHING-NOURISHING FACE MASK

In order to make the ointment, prepare:

• 1 tbsp of powdered pollen
• 1 yolk
• 1 tbsp of honey

Mix up the ingredients, apply it on your face, leave for 30 minutes, and then rinse it with warm water.

THE STRENGHTENING-BEAUTIFYING FACE MASK

In order to make the ointment, prepare:

• 2 tbsp of powdered pollen
• 1 yolk
• 2 tbsp of honey
• 1 tbsp of curd

Mix up the ingredients, apply it on your face, leave for 20 minutes, and then rinse it with warm water.
